, and also reading the new Iron Man comics (Iron Man Vol 5., finally got #2) so I wanted to draw something Iron Man. This a silhouette style drawing that depicts two scenes from the movie. I'm contemplating wether or not I should draw a background for it, any thoughts?

This is really good; how did you make it, was it cut out of paper or was it an actual drawing?
Anyway, some concrit: The anatomy/structure is pretty good; a teensy bit shaky in places, but that's OK, looks great anyway. I especially like the fire from the flamethrower because it looks realistic, which is hard to do with coloured pencils (I assume that's what you used?)
In any case, this looks like it was pretty tough to pull off, so
No its an actual drawing. I started off by drawing the tony stark and iron man in pencil and shaded it in. I then used coloured pencils to create the flames, but decided the whole thing still looked a bit rough and dodgy so I went over them both in a black texter. To finish it off I scanned the drawing and uploaded it to iPhoto to touch it up. I removed all the smudge marks and eraser marks using the retouch feature and upped the contrast and saturation to bring out the colours of the flames and remove the pattern you get when you draw with texter.
